After three months of intensive training, mentorship, and specialized workshops, the GreenLoop Hackathon officially launched on Saturday, August 9, 2025, marking a major milestone for sustainable innovation in Palestine.
The event brought together 30 dynamic teams who showcased their projects and ideas in support of the green economy. In a day filled with creativity and competition, participants presented their solutions before a panel of expert judges in a vibrant exhibition and hackathon setting. The projects highlighted practical, technological, and creative approaches to environmental protection and sustainable development.
By the end of the competition, 11 outstanding ideas were selected to advance to the funding and support stage. A follow-up field tour will be conducted to assess these projects on the ground and identify the financial resources required to turn them into reality—driving forward Palestine’s green economy.
Organizers extended their appreciation to all participants, judges, and partners for their valuable contributions. The collaborative efforts behind the hackathon made it a true platform for nurturing sustainable ideas and inspiring environmental action.
The GreenLoop Hackathon is part of The Hive Innovation Hub and the “Innovative Women and Youth Entrepreneurship Hub for Green Investment and Circular Economy in Palestine” initiative, launched by the Applied Research Institute – Jerusalem (ARIJ) with funding from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). The initiative is implemented in partnership with Palestine TechnoPark and the Bethlehem Business Incubator (BBI) as part of the activities of the Park’s Idea Lab.
