Palestine TechnoPark is thrilled to introduce the winners of the Creative Solutions Hackathon in the Furniture Sector, where visionary teams competed to push the boundaries of furniture design through technology and sustainability. Rising to the challenge, Team “Furnivision” and Team “Be Environmental Friendly” impressed judges with their innovative concepts, each securing top prizes for their exceptional contributions to the future of furniture in Palestine.
First Place: Team “Furnivision”:
Winning the first prize of $4,500, Team Furnivision captured attention with Funivision, a cutting-edge mobile application that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) to let users visualize furniture in their own spaces. This interactive app allows users to add virtual furniture pieces into real-life room settings, empowering them to make more confident purchasing decisions. Funivision’s dimension-measuring tool also provides realistic scaling, helping users ensure that furniture fits seamlessly within their spaces.
Developed by Adnan Odeh, Hussein Abu Ghosh, and Abdel Rahim Fayyala, Funivision is designed to enhance user interaction and bring their visions to life. With this innovative blend of AI and AR, Funivision stands as a groundbreaking solution for personalizing interiors, creating a practical bridge between virtual design and physical spaces.
Second Place: Team “Be Environmental Friendly”:
Taking home the second prize of $3,000, Team Be Environmental Friendly focused on sustainability by repurposing waste wood to create eco-friendly furniture. Their project features a unique chair-and-table set crafted from leftover wood pieces, shaped and assembled using CNC technology and other machinery. This approach not only maximizes material use but also reduces environmental impact, aligning with the growing demand for sustainable design.
Led by Mu’in Hamad and Mus’ab Shoman, the team developed a minimalist, innovative design that uses no nails, screws, or large amounts of glue—only wood. Their concept incorporates a unique, previously unused mechanical movement, enhancing functionality without compromising simplicity or sustainability.
