Birzeit, Palestine – August 19, 2026 — Palestine TechnoPark hosted the **India–Palestine Innovation Policy Roundtable**, bringing together senior government officials, policymakers, researchers, innovators, and representatives of the technology and innovation ecosystem to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation between Palestine and India in technology, innovation, and development.
The roundtable welcomed **H.E. Ambassador Sripriya Ranganathan, Vice Minister at the Ministry of External Affairs of India**, alongside **H.E. Dr. Amjad Barham, Minister of Education and Higher Education**, **H.E. Dr. Abdel Razzaq Natsheh, Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Economy**, and **H.E. Ms. Mahima Sikand, Representative of India to the State of Palestine**.
The discussions focused on the role that technology and innovation can play in supporting sustainable development, economic growth, entrepreneurship, research, and the creation of new opportunities for Palestinian youth.
Building on a Strong Partnership
A key focus of the roundtable was the longstanding partnership between Palestine TechnoPark and the Government of India.
Palestine TechnoPark was established with the generous support of the Government of India and has since developed into a national platform connecting entrepreneurs, technology companies, researchers, universities, policymakers, development partners, and the private sector.
During the meeting, participants discussed how this foundation can be further developed into deeper cooperation between the Palestinian and Indian innovation ecosystems.
The TechnoPark expressed its appreciation for India's continued support since its establishment and highlighted the important role played by the **Representative Office of India in Palestine**, led by H.E. Ms. Mahima Sikand, in strengthening bilateral cooperation and facilitating new areas of engagement.
From Technology Support to Technology for Development
The roundtable also explored opportunities to benefit from India's extensive experience in technology, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and **technology for development**.
Discussions examined practical opportunities for connecting Indian expertise, institutions, technology companies, innovation centers, and research organizations with Palestinian entrepreneurs, universities, researchers, and technology companies.
Potential areas of cooperation include knowledge exchange, capacity building, entrepreneurship and startup development, research and commercialization, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and joint innovation initiatives addressing development challenges.
The discussions emphasized the importance of moving beyond traditional cooperation toward partnerships that can produce practical projects, knowledge transfer, business opportunities, and long-term impact.
Connecting the Innovation Ecosystems of India and Palestine
The India–Palestine Innovation Policy Roundtable represents another step toward strengthening the connection between the two countries' innovation ecosystems and creating new channels for collaboration between government, academia, the private sector, entrepreneurs, and researchers.
