On May 23, more than 50 participants from different universities and specialisations gathered in Nablus to participate in our cleantech hackathon, where seven teams worked with mentors to generate new ideas in energy efficiency, renewables, and water-energy nexus.
Mentors explained what cleantech is, how the Palestine CleanTech Innovation Competition works, and how to encourage the"spark" coming from a new idea and turn it into a successful project. The participants reviewed and discussed their ideas that serve clean energy. With the help of experts and trainers, they were given guidance on developing their ideas and turning them into a business that serves clean energy. They also provided instructions on filling out the application for the Palestine Clean Tech Innovation Competition Second Edition 2022. Last but not least, the Palestine CleanTech Champion from the 1st Edition of the Competition, Ahmad Othman, was also on board, sharing experience and tips about how to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the Program to develop a successful prototype.
