Labs and Hubs

These innovation labs and hubs act as synergetic prototyping platforms for local entrepreneurship and of whose aim is to increase talent exposure to new technologies and labs while providing a practical experiential learning.

The labs are implemented with the provision of local and multinational experts and thought leaders in order to develop commercially enabled concepts and business-service models and further integrate them into global finance and Arabic markets. The Innovation Labs and Hubs will address topics in IoT, AR/VR, Robotics + 3D Printing, Renewable Energy, FinTech, and Satellite Tech.

AR/VR Lab

The AR/VR Lab at the Palestine Techno Park is a dedicated space to allow for the exploration of cutting-edge technologies within the virtual realms. Through the AR/VR Lab, the PTP aims to introduce the latest AR/VR technologies while allowing participants to learn about and understand the application of technology to a specific field and finally build MVPs and prototypes.

In 2018 and 2019, Palestine Techno Park hosted a series of two AR/VR bootcamps, Revamp Bootcamp, designed to promote innovation and entrepreneurship and educate youth on new emerging technologies while putting such technologies in practice.

Fab Lab

A fabrication lab is a small-scale workshop offering digital fabrication, equipped with an array of flexible computer-controlled features that cover several different length scales and various materials, with the aim to make product prototypes through advanced technology-enabled products generally perceived as limited to mass production.

The program began as a collaboration between the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the PTP; UNDIO helped in providing the needed equipment while the PTP arranged the physical space.

Currently, the fab lab contains the following technology-enabled products:

  • 3D Printer
  • 3D Scanner
  • Laser Cutter
  • Computer Numerical Control Machine (CNC)

Digital Art Lab

The Digital Art Lab is a computer lab and space, offering creative opportunities in packaging and product design, and more to the innovative advancement of Palestinian youth, specifically the unemployed graduates through building their capacities in various artistic disciplines and areas such as animation, and digital art.

The aim of the Digital Art Lab is to enhance skills in the field of multimedia, such as graphics, illustrations, and motion animation as well as mental wellness, creative exchange, and global skills necessary to adapt to the local and global market.

The lab contains the following:

  • High Specs (12)
  • Personal Computer
  • laptops for the training programs (3)

EdTech Hub

The EdTech will contribute to the development of Palestinian students by passing down to them the necessary expertise in the fields of innovation, creativity, and programmatic learning. This will be achieved through joint work in implementing creative and innovative code programs, raising in the process capabilities and digital skills for students and program club coordinators.

Specialized workshops might be held on related topics to the presented problem such as Arduino and machine learning, arriving at their application in robotics.

Onwards from that note, the EdTech will also organize a program in Palestine with the aim of promoting the culture of innovation across Palestinian educational institutions and transforming the method of education through technology.

Recently The EdTech Hub organized the first DIGI Edu Hack in the Palestine local market where 15 teams participated, and three were selected for the incubation program at The Palestine Techno Park in cooperation with Eummena. DIGI Edu Hack is a series of online and offline two-day Ideation-hackathons that focus on co-creating the future of education in the digital age.

Creative Hub

The Palestine Creative Hub (PCH) aims to offer creative enterprises and entrepreneurs with support for developing entrepreneurial skills, encouraging product development and internationalization, and promoting sales activities in foreign markets.

These services varying from capacity building to increase in technical and multimedia skills to providing a co-working space are to help creative entrepreneurs permeate markets while improve their capabilities to understand business essentials and prerequisites.

Furthermore, services are to be used by new and active designers, photographers, creative industries, and entrepreneurs. The Palestine Creative Hub will provide all the conditions to enable beneficiaries to develop and grow successfully.
